Description: This is a Hampshire County Council data set showing areas that benefit from flood defences installed in Hampshire. These are installed either by Hampshire County Council or in partnership with others. Flood defences help reduce the frequency and impact of flooding in an area for a specific type of flooding. They cannot remove the risk of flooding entirely or protect against a different source of flooding from the one stated. Being in a defended area does not guarantee that internal property flooding cannot happen. This dataset makes up part of Hampshire County Council’s Flood Risk Asset Register as required by section 21 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
